Wedding FAQ’s
1.
Do you have to be a member to have your reception at the OCC?
No, even though we are a private country club, our beautiful venue is open to the public for wedding receptions.

What is your capacity?
300 for a sit down meal
3.
How do I secure the date?
In order to secure the date, we require a non-refundable deposit from the couple.
4.
What are the service charges and sales tax amounts?
A service charge of 20% applies and is taxable, based on Minnesota state regulation. The current sales tax is 7.375%
5.
When should we discuss menu selections?
Your catering sales manager suggests finalizing menus no later than 1 month prior to your event.
6.
Do you have a cake cutting fee?
Yes, the OCC has a minimal fee of $0.50/slice.
7.
Do you offer shuttle service?
Yes, we have a 7 passenger van available to you for a fee.
8.
What color linens do you provide?
We have a variety of napkin and table linen colors for you to choose from. Specialty linens may also be arranged.
9.
Can I use outside vendors?
Your Catering Sales Manager is happy to share a list of recommended vendors, such as florists, entertainment providers (band/DJ), photographers, videographers, lighting and specialty linen companies.
10.
What does the Country Club provide?
In order to ease the stress of wedding planning, the OCC provides full service, including food and beverage, servers, bartenders, tables, indoor chairs, china, silverware, glassware, dance floor, staging, setup and tear-down of your event.
11.
Can we bring in outside food and beverage?
As regulated by the Minnesota Department of Health and the Minnesota Alcohol and Beverage Commission, the OCC must supply all food and liquor with the exception of your wedding cake that must be supplied by a licensed baker.
12.
When should we notify the OCC of our guaranteed guest attendance?
The couple should communicate final attendance numbers to the OCC one week prior to the reception.
13.
Can I create my own menu?
Yes. Food and beverage experts at the Owatonna Country Club are happy to create a menu that reflects your wishes. Our experienced team will work with you fulfill your requests.
14.
Can I taste the food before the wedding?
Of course. A complete tasting of selected menu items, will be scheduled several weeks prior to your wedding. At that time, we can make any necessary adjustments.
15.
Can I have an open bar at the wedding?
You can elect to have an open bar, a limited selection of wine and beer, or a cash bar. Your wedding specialist will advise you on the costs and inclusions for each.
16.
Do you have suggested vendors for flowers, music, photography, etc?
We work on a regular basis with several vendors. We will be happy to give you contact information. Please contact the Catering Department for more details.
17.
Can I host a morning-after brunch or a rehearsal dinner at the Owatonna Country Club?
Certainly. we have a beautiful location that would be appropriate for these occasions.
18.
Can I decorate the reception room?
Generally, yes. There are certain limitations, which your wedding specialist can review with you. Allow us to give you ideas and suggestions that have successfully worked in the past.
19.
Do you have chair covers?
Yes, we have a beautifully patterned ivory chair cover with sash available for you to rent.
